Bellydance -Hip Drops and Lifts
Bellydance instructor, Aubre, teaches the proper way to do a bellydance hip raise. She goes over the steps for doing the hip raise both standing and traveling.
You prolly hear me call the hip drop, back, they are both the same thing.
the major difference between the two is where you are hitting the drum beats. Hip lifts - one leg slightly infront of the other that knee is very bent, weight on the back leg which is slightly bent. straighten the front leg, tighten that glut. lift, lift lift hip to beat of music.
back or down hips. same pose, but this time, you drop that hip to back, like there is a drum behind your butt and you are going to smack it. drop drop drop to the beat.
Learn how to twist your waist while raising your hips
In this vlog I demonstrate various ways to do the 3/4 shimmy (Hip Bump, Hip Lift, Hip Drop plus travelling variations).
I also talk about beats, how to count music and give a brief demonstration of the saiidi and beladi rhythms on the doumbek. PLEASE NOTE! The rhythm demos were not planned and it WAS lazy of me not to turn the drum around and play it correctly. (I am not left handed.)

Bellydance - Snake Arms
basic snake arms ...
the energy starts in a shoulder lifting, energy ripples down to elbow lifting, then flows to wrist, finally releasing out the finger.
both arms move at the same time
